Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
The short version: we collect what we need to coach you and take payment, we do not sell it, and you can ask for a copy or ask us to delete it any time. The long version is below.
1. Who we are
MAK (Movement Above Kaos) is operated by MAK Movement Above Kaos Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202639121D), a company incorporated in Singapore ("MAK", "we", "us"). You can reach us any time at hello@methodbymak.com.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it. It covers methodbymak.com, the MAK community, the MAK app experience delivered through Everfit, and every MAK program: Move, Move + Nourish and 1:1 Coaching.
We handle your information under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012. We sell memberships worldwide, so if you live somewhere with its own data protection law, you may have extra rights on top of the ones below. Section 12 covers that.
2. What we collect
Account details. Your name, email address, phone number and the login you use to get into the community and the app.
Payment details. Your billing name, billing address, and the last four digits and expiry of your card. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles that.
Training and health details. Your birthday, height, weight, training history, injuries, goals, and anything else you tell your coach or put in an intake form. On 1:1 Coaching this can include progress photos, if you choose to send them.
Usage details. Which workouts you complete, what you post in the community, which emails you open, and standard technical data like your IP address, browser and device.
3. How we collect it
Most of it you give us directly, at checkout, in an intake form, in the app or in the community.
Some of it is collected automatically when you use the site or the app, through cookies and analytics.
Occasionally we get it from someone else, for example Stripe confirming a payment went through, or Everfit telling us a program has been assigned.
4. Why we use it
To run your membership. Take payment, give you access to your program, the community and the app, and keep all of it working.
To coach you properly. Your coach needs your training history and goals to build something that actually fits you.
To talk to you. Onboarding emails, program updates, billing notices, and answers when you reply to us.
To improve MAK. We look at what people finish, skip and ask about, and we build from that.
To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
5. Who we share it with
Only what a provider needs to do its job. Stripe processes payments. HighLevel runs our checkout, community, emails and member portal. Everfit delivers your training and nutrition programs. We also use email and analytics providers.
Your coach sees your training and health information. Other members see only what you choose to post in the community.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.
6. Where your information is stored
We're based in Singapore, and some of our providers, including Stripe, HighLevel and Everfit, store and process data on servers in other countries, including the United States.
Wherever your information goes, we take reasonable steps to make sure it's protected to a standard comparable to Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, as the Act's transfer limitation obligation requires. By using MAK you consent to your information being handled this way.
7. Marketing, and how to stop it
If you join MAK or give us your email, we may send you training tips, offers and news.
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and it works straight away. You can also reply and ask us to stop, or email hello@methodbymak.com.
While you hold a membership you cannot opt out of service messages: payment failures, cancellation confirmations, and changes to our terms.
8. Cookies and analytics
Our site uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how people move through the pages.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site and the member portal may stop working properly if you do.
9. Keeping it secure
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections and access controls, and we limit who on our side can see what.
No system is perfect. If there's a breach that's likely to cause you significant harm, or that affects a large number of people, we will notify you and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission as the law requires, and any other regulator we're required to tell.
10. How long we keep it
While you are a member, and for as long afterwards as we need it to run the business, resolve disputes and meet our record-keeping and tax obligations. Financial records are generally kept for seven years.
After that we delete it or de-identify it. Progress photos are deleted on request at any time.
11. Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that's wrong. Email hello@methodbymak.com and we'll come back to you within a reasonable time, usually inside 30 days.
You can also ask us to delete your information. We will do it unless we are required to keep it, and we will tell you if that is the case.
There is no charge for any of this.
12. Where you live, and your extra rights
We sell worldwide, so depending on where you are you may have rights beyond the ones above.
If you're in the UK or the European Economic Area, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time.
If you're in California, you can ask what personal information we've collected about you, ask us to delete it, and you won't be treated differently for asking. We don't sell personal information.
If you're in Australia, you can ask for access and correction, and complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
To use any of these, email hello@methodbymak.com and tell us where you live. There's no charge.
13. If you are not happy
Email hello@methodbymak.com and tell us what went wrong. We'll look into it and come back to you in writing.
If you're still not satisfied, you can take it to Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission at pdpc.gov.sg, or to the data protection regulator in your own country.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If a change affects your rights in a meaningful way, we will email you before it takes effect.
The date at the top tells you when it was last updated.
15. Contact
